Group Berates Oyebanji, Charges Him to Keep His Campaign Promises

A civil liberties organization, Action Group Renewal Organization aka AGRO Nigeria, on Saturday, called on Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, to make good his promise to establish sixteen model schools in all the sixteen local government areas of Ekiti State before the end of his administration in 2026. The group in a statement charged the Governor to fulfill his promise and ensure the establishment of the model schools in all the local government areas in the State before the expiration of his tenure. "We hope this is not one of the promises the Governor made in the past which has become a relic of the past."                                              Afe Babalola                                  Dele Farotimi  Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria - In a dramatic turn of events, renowned legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola has dropped the charges against Lagos State activist Comrade Dele Farotimi. The 96-year-old founder of Afe Babalola University had filed a criminal charge against Farotimi in November last year over his book, "Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System", which Farotimi used to denigrate and indict the nonagenarian. However, following the intervention of the Ooni of Ife and other prominent Yoruba traditional rulers, Aare Afe Babalola has decided to withdraw the charges.
